Top Ten Tips

1. When going to try wedding dresses on, underwear is critical, so if you have one, please bring or wear a strapless bra.

2. Optimum time to order your dress is 4-6 months prior to your wedding date, so ensure you start looking early enough and give yourself enough time.

3. Choose approx. 4-6 bridal shops to start looking. Too much choice may confuse.

4. Allow yourself on average 1-2 hours in each shop to try a selection of different styles on.

5. Keep an open mind! From a magazine you may have an idea of what you are looking for but until you try that particular style on you may change your mind. This also goes for accessories e.g. veils.

6. Set yourself a budget for your gown and bridesmaid dresses, taking into account accessories.

7. Check with the shop for any additional costs, i.e., alteration charges, fitting consultations, detail changes to the dress.

8. Take advice of the bridal shop and try anything they suggest even if you are not sure; often bridal gowns do not have hanger appeal.

9. Follow your own feelings when wearing a dress - advice and opinions are important but you have to feel special for the most important day in your life!
